About Us
The Mathematics Association of Kenya (MAK) is a non-govermental, non-profit making academic association. It draws its members from the general public especially in the academic sector. The main objective of this association is to effect improvement in mathematics education country wide, to provide means of communication for this purpose, and to take such measures as may appear expedient to advance the views of the Association on any question affecting mathematics education. The Mathematics Association of Kenya is a member of the International Mathematics Union (IMU) and is also a beneficiary of an array of international mathematics organisations such as the Africa Mathematics Union, ICTP, ISP amongst other mathematical communities.
Kenya Mathematical Olympiad
The Kenya Mathematical Olympiad is an annual Secondary School mathematics contest organized by the Mathematics Association of Kenya in conjunction with the School of Mathematics, University of Nairobi. The competition is organized with the aim of selecting Kenya’s teams for the International Mathematical Olympiad and the Pan African Mathematical Olympiad.
